How to Have Success in Your Job Search
Your job search has not working out then one of the best things to do is to further evaluate your overall search strategies to find out where you are going wrong in your overall job search. Job search start with and end with networking so it's important to connect with others by making networking phone calls.
1. Create a list of everyone you know such as past and present co-workers, bank tellers, family members, extended family, friends, neighbors, hairdresser/barber, dog groomer, and more. Focus on making at least 3-5 new networking phone calls each week. Most people are able to produce a list of at least 50-100 people. Talking or calling each person on your list will launch your chances of obtaining a new job.
2. Contact employers before job opening occur open up as it is a way of taking advantage of the hidden job market which is important for overall job success. Using an online tool called Reference USA to access the employer's information so that you'll be able to mail out unsolicited targeted resumes with cover letters to companies matching the type of jobs you're looking for. Mail out least 8 of these resumes and cover letters on a weekly basis.
3. Respond to online job postings. There are literally hundreds of online job sites and boards available such as Monster.com, and CareerBuilder. However, using social networking sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter hashtags, Facebook, LinkUp and many other sites. These sites are newest way to post and receive information about jobs, and post that you're looking for a job too.
